Ketchikan
is a small community of approx. 14,000 year round residents. Our city is located
on the western side of Revillagigedo Island, accessible only by plane or boat.
We average 170-180 inches of rainfall a year. Ketchikan is "Alaska's First
City" when traveling north along the Inside Passage.
If you are traveling here by plane you might like to know that it requires a short
ferry ride from Gravina Island, (where the airport is) to our Island. Ketchikan
is approximately 680 air miles north from Seattle. Our primary economy is based
on tourism, fishing and timber harvesting. Ketchikan is a very popular destination
and we will see an estimated 960,000 tourists in 2010. | | | |
You
may also visit us at the Ketchikan Visitor's Bureau at booth #18 for last minute
reservations. We will have over 960,000 people visiting Ketchikan in 2010
so advanced reservations are recommended. Our tour
price includes all park fees and taxes. Contact
